LEON, GENARO LEONEL, 91, of Pompton Lakes formerly of Newark died peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Beloved husband of 65 years to Alida. Loving father of Magda Karateew and Niurka Perinotti. Devoted brother of Baldo and Asela Musibay. Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Erika, Justin, Eric, Cassi, and Nina. Adored great grandfather of Eva, Julian, Izzy, Adrianna, Ruby, Liam and Kelly.
Born in Bauta, Cuba, Genaro’s righteous actions brought his family to the United States in 1968. Before retiring in 1993, Genaro worked as the shipping manager for Newark Wire & Cloth, Newark. He lived out his life spending time with his family and tending to his garden. Genaro was a dedicated and proud man who believed in the rewards of hard work. His family agrees that he was a man above men and flawless in every way. Genaro preached that family comes first and to take care of one another. He will be missed and never forgotten as his presence will remain in the hearts of many.
Cremation was private.
