Maria Antoinette Jekic

Maria Antoinette Jekic passed away July 11, 2019 at her home in Boulder, Colorado. Maria was born to Ljubica Jekic and Mladen Jekic on March 6, 1962. She grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey and graduated Fair Lawn High School in 1980 and later graduated from University of Colorado Boulder.
Maria’s electric energy was felt by all who met her. Maria was an adventurer, an artist, an entrepreneur and always the life of the party. In her final days, Maria made sure to see Dead & Company in concert one last time. We can all learn from how Maria lived her life—fearlessly, and with a passion for the possibilities, life had to offer her.
Maria’s physical body returned to Mother Earth in a beautiful ceremony at the Star House in Boulder, Colorado. A tree sapling was planted in honor of her life’s memory and both family members and friends are encouraged to visit Maria’s tree the next time they are in the Boulder area. Maria leaves behind her parents, one brother, cousins, uncles and aunts, two nieces and a nephew, along with a loving group of friendships in her spiritual community.
