MACFARLANE, MARY JEAN (nee RUSBY), 86, of Ramsey, NJ formerly of Tuscarora, NY died peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2020 of an aortic aneurysm in Ridgewood, NJ. Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Richard Lenard. (April 7, 2020) Loving mother of Rick Scott. Cherished grandmother of Tyler, Nicholas, and Samantha.
Mary was born in Tuscarora New York to Emery Walter Rusby and Marion Smith on 04-20-1934. She went to high school at Elmira High School and graduated in 1952. Mary attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and Pratt for interior design. She worked for Copeland Novak, Israel, and CDI. She devoted her life to being a homemaker to her husband Richard and raising her son Rick.
A Celebration of Life and Service officiated by Pastor Miller will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Cornetta’s restaurant in Piermont, NY. Spreading of the ashes will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in either Mary Jean or Richard’s name to either the Ramsey Volunteer Ambulance Corps @ ramseyambulance.org/donate OR the Ramsey Police Department @ ramseypd.org/
