Hector L. Rivera

RIVERA (Cano), HECTOR L., 47, of Paterson died peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023. He was the beloved son of Antonia Rivera, the proud brother of Gricel Rivera, and the loving brother of Luis A. Rivera.

Hector was born in Caugas, Puerto Rico, on February 22, 1976, and his family relocated to New Jersey when he was just two years old. He graduated from Wayne Tech High School in 1994 in Wayne, New Jersey, and dedicated 15 years of his life to working for a local recycling company in Paterson. Hector had a deep passion for football, with the Buffalo Bills as his favorite team, a fact he proudly shared with everyone. He never missed a game and enjoyed playful banter with his brother, always insisting that his team was the best. Hector was a well-known figure in the neighborhood, always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors.

In his final year at Excelcare of Wayne, Hector's kindness and willingness to assist his roommates quickly made him a cherished presence. He enjoyed leisurely walks and loved meatball subs. His charisma will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his friends and loving family, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, November 1st from 6:30-7:30 PM at Manke Memorial @ Scillieri-Arnold Funeral Home, 351 Fifth Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07506. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation was private.
