James John Horos, Jr.

HOROS, JR., JAMES JOHN, 69, of Hopatcong.

James John Horos Jr., born on February 7, 1956, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late James John Horos Sr. and the late Elma St. Clare Horos (Canfield).  James was predeceased by his wife, Joan Horos, and his son, Michael Ayres.  He leaves behind his loving partner of 24 years, Anna Barton; her son, Edward Barton, and his children; and his six children: Amanda Ohannessian (Horos) and her husband, Shant Ohannessian, along with their children, Alexander and Stella; Tracey Ayres and her husband, Ronald Dobrzynski, and their son, Devin; Jacqueline Moccia and her partner, Robert Cupani, and her sons, Nicholas and Matthew; his daughter, Debbie; his son, David Ayres; and his late son, Michael Ayres.

James spent his career working for Mack Trucks, where he was a dedicated and hardworking employee. He was considered by his family to be a reliable and trustworthy man—the first person you would call if you needed help, knowing without question that he would be there.  He had a deep love for hunting, the outdoors, NASCAR, and also enjoyed watching history documentaries. Above all, he cherished time with his family.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
