Mirtila "Mamita" Sotomayor

SOTOMAYOR, MIRTILA “MAMITA” (nee Rodriguez), 95, of Pompton Plains formerly of Paterson died peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Basilio Poma (1973). Loving mother of Moises and his wife Hilda Poma, Wilfredo & his wife Doris Poma, the late Gladys Poma (2007), and the late Gloria Poma (1952). Devoted sister of 8 siblings. Cherished grandmother of Willy and Vanessa Poma, Liz Jave & her husband Richard Gutierrez and Victor Jave and great grandmother of Jonathan, Brianna, Tiffany, Jhan, Seth, Leticia and Rocio.

Before retiring Mamita worked for Accupac Packaging, Mahwah, NJ. She was an avid cook and enjoyed feeding her family and running around with her great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, December 6th from 4-8 PM at Manke Memorial @ Scillieri-Arnold Funeral Home, 351 Fifth Avenue, Paterson. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 7th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
