JEKIC, MLADEN, 86, of Fair Lawn NJ, passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 4, 2022.
Mladen was born in Sibenic, Croatia on December 16, 1935 to Michael Jekic and Marija Iladica Ropo. Mladen immigrated to the United States at the age of 22, and went on to serve honorably in the US Army from 1960 to 1962, stationed in Germany. Mladen married the love of his life, Ljubica “Luby” Matakovich in 1961. As a civilian Mladen excelled as a Machinist and Tool and Die Maker for 50 years. He was a dedicated father to both his late daughter Maria and his son Daniel. In his free time, Mladen would enjoy both reading and exercising often, well into his older age.
All who knew Mladen knew him to be a strong-willed, intelligent, and devoted head to his family. His presence will be deeply missed by his lovely wife Luby, his son, his daughter in law and his three grandchildren.
