Velma A. Morales, age 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25th, 2019 after her battle with cancer. She was born on December 19th, 1957 in Bronx, New York to Antonio and Velma Lennon Morales. Loving mother of Sebastian A. Ramirez, Velma has numerous friends and other relatives.
Velma formed and owned “Thanks I Kneaded That” to express her passion for life. It was her way to touch the world, literally, with both her magical hands and her beautiful heart. She enjoyed working as a fitness trainer, Zumba instructor and massage therapist at numerous locations, including New Jersey Center for Healthy Living in Montclair, NJ, and FemmFitness in Hackensack NJ. Her many clients, now friends, can attest to her dedication, care, and compassion she gave to everyone.
Velma has been an active and dedicated member of her SGI-USA Buddhist community. Like a true disciple of president Daisaku Ikeda, she shared her heart for her members. She is known for “being Velma”, for her sincere one-on-one dialogue and constant Shakubuku activities whether as a regular member, group leader, district leader, chapter leader or on the register at the bookstore.
Velma’s beautiful spirit touched everyone in a special way. She was brave, strong, funny with a great personality and an unbeatable spirit. She made friends everywhere, irrespective of spiritual/religious beliefs. She is greatly missed.
Please join us in celebrating her life, on Sunday, December 8th, 2019, between 3:00 p.m. — 4:30 pm at the SGI-USA Buddhist Center located at 719 American Legion Dr, Teaneck, NJ 07666. ***
